Competition Rules
Pure 107.8 FM (the company) stages a number of competitions for a variety of prizes. In general terms the following rules apply unless stated otherwise on-air. In the case of minor and incidental competitions, some of the rules may be waived.
- Competitions shall generally be open to those who live within the Pure 107.8 FM total survey area, as defined by the station.
- Listeners who have won a prize on any programme in the previous 28 days are disqualified from entering subsequent competitions in that period.
- No employees or their families or agents contracted to work for Pure 107.8 FM are eligible to participate in Pure 107.8 FM competitions. This restriction is extended to employees of, or those contracted with, any commercial partners with which the station joins in organizing a specific competition.
- Pure 107.8 FM cannot be held responsible for any difficulty in communicating with the radio station by telephone or other means, or for the non-delivery, delay or loss of any entry. Proof of posting is not acceptable as proof of delivery.
- Each prize offered shall be accepted as described by the station, and winning listeners may not demand a substitute. If a listener is unable to take advantage of a prize, for whatever reason, the station shall not be liable to recompense that listener in cash or otherwise. A prize will not be awarded to any person who, for any reason, would not be allowed by law to purchase or use the prize or where the supply to that person would be unlawful.
- In the event of competition entries being judged by the station, the judges' decision shall be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- Age limits may apply to certain prizes. Entrants outside such limits will be disqualified. For certain prizes the company may require that a parent or guardian accompany winners under 18 years of age.
- All competitions are intended to be fun without the intention of creating legal relations. Entry does not create an enforceable contract.
- If a competition pledges to award a prize to a numbered caller, random calls shall be answered. Those calling on the stations many phone-in lines may not be answered in the order in which they call. Some lines, therefore, may not be answered at all in the process of the competition.
- In the event of the company receiving more than one correct answer, names shall be entered into a draw and a winner/winners shall be selected as appropriate.
- The company reserves the right to announce the names and addresses of competition winners, record and broadcast winners' contributions and supply details of participants to clients of the station for promotional purposes.
- The company will notify the winner of the arrangements for collection or delivery of the prize. Any prize not claimed and/or collected within 14 days of first notification shall remain the property of the company. While the company will use it's best endeavours to ensure that the winner receives the prize within a reasonable period of time, it shall not be responsible for any failure to do so.
- The company is not responsible for the non arrival of any prize sent by post or courier.
- The company may use the facility of premium rate ‘phone lines', and shall be operate these within ICSTIS guidelines, as echoed by Ofcom.
- The company reserves the right to impose additional rules to those stated above, or to amend the rules for specific competitions. The entering of any competition shall be deemed an acceptance of these rules.
- The company reserves the right to alter, amend or foreclose the promotion without prior notice.
- The decision of the company is final. No correspondence will be entered into concerning the company's interpretation of the rules.
